Stances

Drugs - If there is one thing we can agree on is that when a solution creates a bigger problem than the one it was intended to solve, it is insanity not to change. NH has some of the strictest drug laws, with Cannabis holding a Class A Misdemeanor status while Opiates hold Felony Charges on any amount. With the incarceration rate high and the overdose rate rising, things can't stay the same. Punishment is not a cure and prison as treatment is a poison pill. When locked up, whether behind bars or to the streets, most are unable to find stability, nevermind success. We must become advocates of treatment, not investors in the correctional industry.

LGBT - After the events of Orlando, there has been attempts at support for the LGBT community. Sadly, for those struggling with their gender identity, you can still be kicked out of your home or job just for being who you are. Matters are worse for LGBT youth, who can still undergo harmful conversion therapy in an attempt to "fix" them. We cannot hurt those whom we don't understand, or look down on those whom are different, but protect all people in good character.

Minimum Wage - With no state minimum, wages remain un-liveable in NH. As someone who rents an appartment, purchases groceries, pays for gas, and endures student debt

(more on that below), even though I am lucky enough to work for a company that pays above the minimum wage, I still have to cut expenses to get by. To imagine someone attempting to do this on only $7.25 an hour is horrendous. While keeping in regard with local employers who can't afford to pay their employees extravagantly, we must find a medium that can help both workers and the workforce.

Net Metering -  With the advent of solar technology, we have reached the point where it is possible for citizens to generate and even sell their own energy. With this however, power companies have firmly and successfully lobbied to put a cap on how much energy you can sell back. The government should not have the right to do this, especially when it provides greener and more sustainable energy back into the grid.

College Funding - It is not a surprise that paying for college has been a struggle in recent years, and with the cost increasing as funding drops, we face the possibility of not being able to hold our youth accountable to a level of higher education. Work needs to be done with both educational institutions and legislators to come to an agreement that can help students succeed
